Project overview

Bexhill College

At Bexhill College, the works comprised a significant extension to the existing car park, providing additional parking capacity to support the growing demands of the site. The scheme included the installation of a new surface water drainage system, incorporating an attenuation tank to effectively manage and control stormwater runoff in line with site requirements.

Scope of works

Inside the Build.

Bexhill College, on site 1

Due to the scale of the extension, careful planning and sequencing were essential to integrate the new works seamlessly with the existing car park infrastructure. The project was delivered under a tight programme and subsequently transitioned into enabling works for a new catering block.

Bexhill College, on site 2

This included the construction of new foundations and installation of associated ducting to service the building, ensuring all underground services were correctly positioned for future fit-out works. As the works were undertaken during term time, maintaining a safe working environment was a priority throughout, with strict segregation measures, traffic management controls, and careful coordination with the college to minimise disruption to staff and students while maintaining progress on site.

FAQs

Thinking of Something Similar?

Call 01424 830613 and describe the site. We will tell you straight whether it is the same kind of job.

How do you price work like this?+

From a site visit and whatever information already exists, such as drawings, structural reports, asbestos surveys or ground investigation. You get a written quote setting out what is included, what is excluded and what would change it. Where something genuinely cannot be known until the ground is opened, we say so rather than burying it.

What happens if the ground is not what everyone expected?+

It gets raised straight away rather than quietly worked around. Unexpected made ground, water, contamination, an old slab or a service in the wrong place all change the method, and sometimes the design. We stop, record what has been found, and agree the way forward with you and the engineer before carrying on.

Who is on site day to day?+

One of our own supervisors runs the site and is the person you deal with, backed by a contact in the office for the paperwork and the programme. The operators are ours as well, so the people on the machines have worked to our methods before rather than being whoever the agency sent that week.
