Project overview

Herbrand Walk

At the rear elevation of the property, we completed sea defence works incorporating the installation of 6m high steel sheet piles across the frontage, designed to provide robust protection against coastal erosion and wave action. The sheet piles were driven to the required levels with approximately 2m exposed above beach level, forming a durable retaining barrier.

Scope of works

Inside the Build.

Herbrand Walk, on site 1

Concrete access ramps were constructed at both ends of the structure, each approximately 1.5 to 2m in length, providing practical access transitions where required. The in-situ concrete works were carried out using C40 concrete for enhanced durability in a marine environment, reinforced with two layers of A393 mesh to ensure structural strength, stability, and long-term resistance to environmental loading.

FAQs

Thinking of Something Similar?

Call 01424 830613 and describe the site. We will tell you straight whether it is the same kind of job.

How long does a project like this take?+

It depends on the size of the package, the ground, the access and how much has to be done in sequence rather than at the same time. Notices also take real time: demolition needs one served on the council, and party wall matters run to their own timetable. We would rather give you a date that holds than an optimistic one.

Who is on site day to day?+

One of our own supervisors runs the site and is the person you deal with, backed by a contact in the office for the paperwork and the programme. The operators are ours as well, so the people on the machines have worked to our methods before rather than being whoever the agency sent that week.

Do you take on smaller jobs too?+

Yes. The projects shown here are the larger packages because they show the range, but plenty of our work is a single structure coming down, one extension foundation, a drainage run or an underpinning scheme on one wall. The same survey, sequencing and paperwork apply whatever the size.
