Project overview

Britannia Superfine

At Britannia Superfine, we have successfully completed the current stage of works, delivering a significant package of civil engineering and concrete infrastructure to support the expansion of two new operational factories. This included the construction of new reinforced concrete slabs forming the base for both factory units, designed to provide a durable and high-load-bearing surface suitable for ongoing industrial operations.

Scope of works

In addition, we installed surrounding concrete footpaths to ensure safe and practical access for personnel around the buildings. As part of the drainage strategy for the development, we also completed the installation of a new attenuation tank system serving both factories, providing effective surface water management and controlled discharge in line with site requirements.

Further works included the formation of a new heavy-duty concrete yard, designed to accommodate HGV movements and allow lorries to safely reverse and load/unload directly to the factory units. To improve site logistics and vehicle access, we also constructed a new reinforced concrete ramp linking the yard to the surrounding levels, ensuring smooth and efficient movement for heavy goods vehicles.

Overall, the works were delivered to a high standard, providing a robust and functional external infrastructure to support the operational needs of the facility.

FAQs

Thinking of Something Similar?

Call 01424 830613 and describe the site. We will tell you straight whether it is the same kind of job.

Could you do a job like this for us?+

Very likely. Tell us where the site is, what is standing on it now and what you need there at the end, and we will tell you honestly whether it is the same kind of work. If it is not something we should be doing, we would rather say so than take it on and struggle.

Do you work to our engineer's design?+

Yes, and on most jobs of this type that is exactly how it works. Foundation, piling, temporary works and retaining designs come from the project engineer and we build to them, flagging anything on site that does not match what the drawing assumed. Where you have no engineer yet, we will tell you at what point you will need one.

How long does a project like this take?+

It depends on the size of the package, the ground, the access and how much has to be done in sequence rather than at the same time. Notices also take real time: demolition needs one served on the council, and party wall matters run to their own timetable. We would rather give you a date that holds than an optimistic one.
